Unread Letter !
I did have a rough start with this one. My first transfers on a thick, rectangle piece wood were horrible! Turns out I didn't use enough gel gloss so the ink didn't stick well and the whole image would come up. I was really mad, so I started over on a thin piece of wood that didn't have varnish. I liked this a lot better! I got my classmate, Jason, to cut the wood in a long triangle shape and I ran with the project from there. I did all my transfers in a day and then started on the pictures I wanted to collage on. I chose high fashion images along with street wear and bright colors. The ripped up letter on my piece was not addressed to any one in particular, but it does explain why I am so passionate about art and fashion, and the fact that I will not chasing my dreams of becoming a designer. The letter is dipped in red paint to symbolize blood, which represents the storm ill have to travel through to get where I need to be. When you first look at my piece you think its just a bunch of nonsense, but each image represents me in some way. Every image was very appealing to me. I want to hang this on my wall, and later on when I am old and grey ill remember the things I was into as a teenager.
